Laura Ingraham Sets the Record Straight

Laurah Ingraham cleared the air on The O'Reilly Factor.

At the start of the live O’Reilly Factor broadcast tonight, Laura Ingraham took advantage of her guest hosting spot by setting the record straight regarding her weight comments toward Meghan McCain.  The subject of tonight’s Talking Points Memo was the word-twisting nonsense going on on the left.  In the memo, Laura took advantage of her spot by saying that she DID NOT call Meghan McCain fat.  The entire clip was played in the background and, given the full context of the comments, they didn’t sound quite as harsh.  She went on to say that she has constantly said Meghan McCain is a lovely girl and is no way fat, and that it was just another example of the left twisting conservative’s words to push their agenda.  I must say, I admire Ingraham for bringing it up on such a large platform, but I still don’t know if I’m convinced the comments weren’t slightly weight-based.  Actually, without the weight context, saying that about the “plus-sized model” really makes no sense at all.  But Laura generally means what she says and cuts the crap, so I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt.   It was a great little segment; for those who missed it don’t forget to tune in to the next broadcast of The Factor at 10 Pm Eastern.

What do you think  of Laura’s bringing the comments up?  Do you believe she wasn’t making a weight referrence?  Leave your comments below or send us an e-mail at

Laura never used the word ‘fat’ and even if the comment vaguely referred to Megan’s weight, so what? As usual the real issues are being ignored and focus has been shifted to something silly. Based on what I’ve heard, Megan may consider herself a Republican but she’s not much of a conservative.

  4. You’re right, she never directly said ‘fat’, but she did call her a plus-sized model. That’s pretty close. Also, my complaints with Laura Ingraham aren’t necessarily that she called her a plus-sized model, but that she resorted to personal attacks rather than attacking the girl’s politics.

And I’m aware she’s not really conservative, that’s my point. I don’t understand why Laura couldn’t have attacked that rather than make irrelevant weight comments.

Thanks for reading and commenting! Hope to see you back.
