Rocker Saved. Allison Iraheta Has Signed with Jive!

WOOO!  I am pleased to report that Allison Iraheta from Season 8 of American Idol has officially been signed with Jive!  I think this label will do a great job promoting her and getting her singles to radio and sales for the album.

Through out the season I had my doubts she’d get picked up by a 19 Entertainment label with the judges always seeming to downplay her talents, but I’m so happy I was wrong!  I imagine we can see the debut CD out sometime this fall.  I can’t wait, I’m sure it’ll be awesome!  Let’s just hope they let her be who she wants to be as an artist.

What do you think about this news?  What kind of CD do you want from Allison?  Leave your comments below or send an e-mail to theconservativejournal@gmail.com.  Don’t forget to bookmark The Conservative Journal and sign up for the RSS Feed and the daily e-mail newsletter.

Video of the Day: Allison Iraheta and Cyndi Lauper Duet

From the American Idol Finale last night.  Definitely one of my favorite moments from the show.  Allison sounds great and Cyndi is classic Cyndi!  Watch the video below:

Congratualtions to Kris Allen for His American Idol Win!

Sorry I coulnd’t post last night, I was quite busy.  But I am pleased this morning to say congratulations Kris, I look forward to hearing his music post-idol.  He’s come a long way from being unknown in the Top 36.  I wish him the best of luck.  Also worth noting, Adam couldn’t have been a more gracious loser last night.  I’m sure he’d probably thought he was going to win deep down (I sure did!), but I think he was truly happy for Kris win the results were announced.  I’m sure he’ll also have success, and I wish him the best of luck as well.

Highlights of the Finale for me in the order I remembered them, if that tells you anything:

  • Allison and Cyndi Lauper duet.  Cyndi wasn’t at her finest, but they sounded great together!
  • Kris Allen and Keith Urban duet.  Kris outdid Keith on this one.  I could see him doing country/pop.
  • David Cook singing “Permanent” for charity.  I thought was a great vocal.  I love the song as well.
  • Megan Joy/Steve Martin singing and banjo-ing to his song.  I know Michael was a part of that as well, but this is the highlight section!
  • Kara DioGuardi killing Bikini Girl.  And the whole bathing suit.  One of my favorite moments ever.
  • Adam/Kris singing “We Are the Champions” with Queen.
  • Adam singing with KISS.  Adam’s voice  sounds excellently in this kind of setting.  It’s the songs like “One” that a perpetual screech does not work.
  • The one note Fergie hit properly during “Boom Boom Pow” that was incredible.
  • The Golden Idols.  I know, I know, they are incredibly corny.  But I also think they are incredibly entertaining.

Lowlights

  • Lil Rounds and Queen Latifah.  This was just a whole lotta “okay”.  Quite monetenous after a while.
  • The Santana medley thing.  Santana was great on guitar, but I didn’t like these performances.
  • “I’m Yours” with all the Idols and Jason Mraz.  I couldn’t be more sick of this song.  Plus I thought it was a Megan Joy/Anoop duet.  NEED MEGAN.
  • Rod Stewart.
  • Danny Gokey and Lionel Ritchie dueting.  Too “meh”, too old.
  • The other notes Fergie hit during “Boom Boom Pow”/”Big Girls Don’t Cry”.
  • Michael Sarver’s part in the “Pretty Flowers” trio.

American Idol Finale Performances Recap

This….. is…… American Idol!  Sorry, I had to.  I hadn’t done that yet this season I don’t think.  Anyway, Season 8 comes down to this, the final six competition performances of the year.  I’m sure it’ll be epic.  Hmm.

Ryan reminds us to all fix our DVRs for the finale runover, but I will predict now that millions of people will still flock to message boards to complain.  First up is…

Adam Lambert singing “Mad World” by Tears for Fears for his re-do performance.  What’s up with the cape, man?  Haha, and the dramatic fog screens going across the floor?  This is over the top without even trying to be.  But in all seriousness, this is good.  I think it’s better than the first time he did it overall.  There aren’t any small bum notes anywhere, which is always a plus.  I’m not seeing the big twist that we heard he was going to do, but it was still good.  Not your typical Adam Lambert here.  Randy gave it an A+ and loved the fog machines, Kara said he is an incredible artist, Paula told him to bask in it, and Simon thought it was over theatrical like Phantom of the Opera.  Next up is…

Kris Allen singing “Ain’t No Sunshine” by Bill Withers for his re-do performance.  Kris has really nice parents, I really like them.  I will probably miss them more than anyone this season, except for Allison.  And Meghan.  So nevermind.  Anyway, this has been one of my favorite performances from Kris this year, so I’m glad he went with this one.  It’s more understated than his other two, so it’ll be good to bring it back to the fore front.  Great performance.  This is more my kind of thing.  Really good ending, too.  Randy thought it was one of his best ever, Kara complicated his ability to make an intimate bond, Paula says something about “Allenizing” things, and Simon said he had doubted America’s choice last week, but now he takes it all back.

I’d have to give that round to Kris, and Simon agrees with me.  I always knew Simon knew what he was talking about.

Adam Lambert singing “A Change is Gonna Come” by Patti LaBelle and Sam Cook for Simon Fuller’s choice.  Wow, this is really good, I’ve gotta say.  He’s hitting some big ole notes as usual, but it seems to work well for this song.  I enjoyed this much more than the first one.  It’s one of my favorite Adam performances of the year for sure.  There’s more substance to it than usual screech fest.  The judges pretty much all thought that it was his best ever, and Simon said he was definitely back in the game.  Next up is…

Kris Allen singing “What’s Going On” by Marvin Gaye for Simon Fuller’s choice.  This is very Kris Allen, to quote Paula.  A very cool pop sound to this one, which is definitely what he should go with after Idol.  I think this performance is proof that he has the most potential radio success after Idol from anyone this season.  It’s not his best, but I could imagine hearing it on the radio.  Randy thought it was a little light for him, Kara like the song choice and thought he delivered a message, Paula thought he “tore it up” and made Marvin Gaye proud, and Simon thought it was like 3 friends in a bedroom strumming along to Marvin Gaye and too laid back for a finale.

Simon gave that round a million percent to Adam.  I think it goes to Adam as well, but not by a million percent.

Oh great, now the epic coronation song is up.  I can’t wait to see that one.  Not.

Adam Lambert singing “No Boundaries”, this year’s coronation song written by Kara DioGuardi.  This song typical Idol cheese, limburger to be exact.  He’s doing a great job vocally, though it gets a little shouty in the end.  Not typical Adam “screech” just shouty.  This song is going to kill Kris unless they allowed them to change it up.  Good vocal for Adam, though not the most captivating performance.  Randy thought it was pitchy, Kara gave herself a shout out for writing it (Come on Kara), Paula will forever be his fan, and Simon made fun of the song, but said Adam has been one of the best and most original ever.  Next up is…

Kris Allen singing “No Boundaries” as well.  Unless Kris can change it up it’s going to kill him.  Well, the beginning was really good!  In the middle it kind of fell a part a bit, but he got it back together.  I actually really liked that.  The song didn’t kill him like I thought it would.  Adam’s always got him beat as far as range and ability, but Kris knows what he can do and does it really well.  Randy thought the key was high, but said he was amazing; Kara said he is a compelling artist and incredible person; Paula said he’s done an amazing job this season and deserved every bit of it; and Simon said the first was his best, but watching him as been incredible because he has improved so much.

Now the real reason everyone’s watching American Idol tonight…

Carrie Underwood singing the good-bye song “Home Sweet Home”.  Carrie’s looking great back on the Idol stage!  Great performance of “Home Sweet Home” by Carrie.  I think this just proves that she is the greatest winner of American Idol.  She is one of the only people that actually sound better live than in the studio.  I will always be a fan.  I give the night to Carrie Underwood!

What did you think of tonight’s show?  Who do you think will be winning tomorrow night?

American Idol Finale Pre-Show Scoop

I will be recapping tonight’s episode, but it will come about an hour or so later than usual.  Until then, enjoy the following fun facts about tomorrow’s finale, as well as the poll that will be up after the performances.

Tonight is the final performance night for Season 8 of American Idol, and surprisingly I haven’t lost interest.  I haven’t watched a finale performance show because I wanted to since Season 4 or 5, so this is a pleasant change.  Though I’ve said numerous times that Adam’s music isn’t my kind of thing, he generally gives great performances (“One” from last week is the exception.  Every time I watch it back it gets worse.) and he’s a great entertainer.  Kris is much more my style of music, and if he gives 3 solid performances and isn’t thrown under the bus, he might have a chance.  We’ll have to see for sure after tonight’s show.  Anyway on to the point of this post, here are the confirmed spoilers and rumored appearances on Idol’s two-part finale:

Tuesday, 8/7 c.:

  • Carrie Underwood will be singing the farewell song, “Home Sweet Home” live at the end of the show.  I’m sure this will be great, as she is always wonderful live.  Speaking of Ms. Underwood, here is an article I wrote about her a few days ago: TCJ Seal of Approval: Carrie Underwood!

Wednesday, 8/7 c.:

  • Lionel Ritchie will be dueting with Danny Gokey.
  • Cyndi Lauper will be dueting with Allison Iraheta (Woo!).
  • Adam Lambert will be dueting with KISS.
  • Kris Allen will be dueting with Keith Urban.
  • Adam Lambert is set to reprise “Mad World” for his repeat song, but with a twist of some sort.
  • Kris Allen is rumored to be doing either “Falling Slowly” or “Heartless” for his repeat song.
  • The Top 13 will sing “So What” by P!nk as a group, as well as “Smooth” by Santana with Santana.
  • David Cook will be singing “Permanent”  (Best song on his album) as a tribute to his brother who recently passed away.  It will be sold as a charity single on iTunes.

What do you think of this finale set?  What duet do you think is the best matching?  Leave your comments below or send an e-mail to theconservativejournal@gmail.com.  Don’t forget to bookmark The Conservative Journal and sign up for the RSS Feed and the daily e-mail newsletter.

American Idol Top 3 Prediction and Analysis

If you missed last night’s show, you can read the full recap of the episode here.

Best Performance of the Night: Kris Allen singing Heartless

Best Performance of the Night: Kris Allen singing "Heartless"

Who should go? Danny

Who will go? Danny

I have one thing to say before I begin breaking down who I think will go home and why: The show would have been better with AllisonDanny was fair/good for both of his songs, while Allison no doubt would have been great/outstanding.  Just like with Carly Smithson’s (click here to follow her on twitter) early departure last year, I’m still bitter.

Prior upsets aside, let’s get to the upset at hand; If Danny Gokey makes it to the finals in anyway, I will be upset.  And not really because he would eliminate either Kris or Adam from the finale, but because he doesn’t deserve it.  Danny is basically the second coming of Taylor Hicks, who by the way is currently playing a minor character in the production of Grease.  Last night, both Adam and Kris outsang and outperformed Danny on each of their songs.  Not only that, but Danny has next to zero commercial potential.  Sure he will sell to his fans that are supporting him on the show, but he doesn’t have the voice to receive mainstream success like Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, Daughty, etc.  I could see Danny taking a career path similar to Mandisa as a Christian music artist, which is certainly a great path to go down.  Hot 100 radio is just not calling Danny‘s name.

On to the results:  ultimately, I do think Danny Gokey will be leaving us tonight.  For the second week in a row Danny has been the obvious weakest link.  Last week his mysterious fan base carried him through after a wretched screaming rendition of “Dream On”, and this week he wasn’t nearly as bad.  But will they carry him through again underservingly?  My intial guess is no.  If you look back on American Idol, when performers are pulled throught to the next round after a really bad performance, the next week is usually there time to go if they don’t deliver a knockout.  Look at Brooke White last year.  Her start-and-stop dilemma pulled here through (over Carly Smithson, I might add) to the Top 5, but she was then eliminated the next week after performances that were on par to her usual.  Add with that the fact that Adam Lambert and Kris Allen outperformed him by a mile, I think the top 2 is quite clear.

Adam received numerous praise all around from the judges on both performances, and even got a little boost from Simon when he reminded everyone to vote for him because he deserves it and not just assume he will be safe.  Kris also received praise on his second performance of Kanye West’s “Heartless”, which I must say was brilliant.  I think that performance alone produced enough buzz to carry Kris through.  So when it comes down to it tonight, I feel fairly confident that Danny will be leaving us tonight.  Check back here later for a recap and reaction to tonight’s results by bookmarking The Conservative Journal or by subscribing to the RSS Feed and the daily e-mail newsletter to get updates when something new is posted.

Top 3 Scoreboard

  • Kris Allen, “Heartless”-  A+ (Only one of the season)
  • Adam Lambert, “Cryin”- A-
  • Danny Gokey, “You Are So Beautiful”- B
  • Adam Lambert, “One”- B-
  • Kris Allen, “Apologize”- B-
  • Danny Gokey, “Dance Little Sister”- C

American Idol Top 3 Recap and Review

We’re down to the final 3 on season 8 of American Idol!  Just one more week until the big finale, where we will be reunited with the Idols from episodes past.  Can’t wait to see Carrie Underwood, Allison Iraheta, and Megan Joy again!  On tonight’s show:

Wow, according to Ryan this is the 300th episode?  That’s insane!  Most shows don’t last anywhere near that long.

In case you didn’t know the theme, it’s the judges’ choice and the contestant’s choice.  Starting off tonight’s show is..

Danny Gokey singing “Dance, Little Sister” by Terence Trent D’Arby.  You know what I just realized?  I’ve been ragging on Lambert all year for the incessant screaming, but Gokey really deserves it more.  His screaming is more of yell or “holler”.  Like he’s got something lodged in his windpipe.  This performance is just bland and typical Danny, which is not a compliment.  Generally he gives a fair-to-good vocal, but this week is not good at all.  I think his voice is losing steam.  Randy thought it was dope, Kara didn’t like the dancing, Paula loved it (Of course, she picked the song!), and Simon thought it was vocally good, but desperate in every other way.  Next up is..

Kris Allen singing “Apologize” by OneRepublic.  With Allison gone, I’m pulling for Kris.  He’s the only one of the remaining contestants I’d listen to after the show.  I think “Apologize” suits Kris well, as long as he can get those higher notes he sometimes struggles on.  Kris is pulling out the piano for tonght’s song.  As expected a few of the falsetto notes are a little weak, but he nailed everything else!  That was a solid performance.  Randy thinks this is the kind of artist Kris can be; Kara thought it was competant but at this stage he’s got to hit it out of the park; Paula thought it was at the right place in his voice, but there was a bum note that was “loud”; Simon called Kara out for her comments since she picked the song, but said it wasn’t as good as the original.  I actually thought it was better.  Next up is..

Adam Lambert singing “One” by U2.  This is one of my favorite songs, but I don’t know that it will suit Adam’s voice.  It doesn’t really go anywhere as far as range goes, so I’m sure he’ll change it up.  Ooo, I am not a huge fan of this one.  I know I am never really a “fan” of Adam’s performances, but I think this is one of his weaker performances.  I don’t like how he changed the melody up in the middle; it just didn’t really work.  Great big note towards the end.  Randy says he’s “One of the hottest 3 in the competition”, dang Randy there are only 3 left!; Kara thought it was unbelievable; Paula thought it was superb and pretty much predicted the inevitable win of Adam; Simon thought it was a brilliant song choice.  That’s funny because he picked it.  Next up is..

An update on Idol Gives Back with Saint Carrie Underwood.  Ms. Underwood is not only a great singer, but she is a great person, which is quite rare in celebrities these days.  Carrie made a trip to Angola, Africa, to check up on a village that received insecticide treated bed nets to help prevent Malaria.  Idol Gives Back has provided Angola with over 300,000 bed nets over the past 2 years.  This made me realize how much I missed Idol Gives Back this year.  That episode was great, especially last year’s.  Next up is..

Danny Gokey singing “You Are So Beautiful” by Joe Cocker.  Interesting song choice.  The beginning wasn’t great, very gaspy sounding.  The middle got better, and towards the end it was good.  Much better than the first song.  The only problem is, this isn’t relevant at all.  Can you see this on the radio?  No.  Randy thought there were “mad vocals”, Kara thought it was stunning, Paula said they were all breathless, Simon said it was a vocal masterclass.  I guess they liked it?  Next up is..

Kris Allen singing “Heartless” by Kanye West?  Wow, what an ambitious song choice for Kris.  If Kris takes this and changes it up WELL, this could be big game changer in his benefit.  I really like this acoustic version of this song actually.  Much better than the original.  That’s probably Kris’s best performance on the show, and my favorite of the night by far.  Great performance.  This is why Kris deserves a spot in the final over Danny; THAT could be on the radio.  Randy thought it was better than the original; Kara thought it was bold, brave, and brilliant; Paula said it keeps him relevant; Simon had written him out of the competition after “Apologize”, but now that has all changed.  Glad they liked it!  Next up is..

Adam Lambert singing “Cryin'” by Aerosmith.  This is more along Adam’s comfort zone than “One”.  I’m sure this will be good, though just more of what we’re used to.  He said he’s not going to change it up as much as his other stuff because it’s already amazing.  Great vocal, but some weird facial expressions going on.  You don’t have to actually cry while singing the song.  Randy says he’s a rockstar, Kara doesn’t know how he hits those notes, Paula says we’ll be seeing him next week and for years to come, Simon warns against voter complacency, and tells everyone to be sure and vote hard for Adam.  That was a smart one Simon.  Adam gives a shoutout to Kris and Danny at the end, also a smart move.

That wraps up tonight’s top 3 peformance of American Idol.  Be sure and check back in later for my prediction of the top 2.

What did you think of tonight’s show?  Leave your comments below or send an e-mail to theconservativejournal@gmail.com.  Don’t forget to subscribe to the RSS Feed and the daily e-mail newsletter.

Letter to Allison Iraheta: I Will Miss You.

Dear Allison,

I just want you to know that I voted for you last night.  For the first time all season, I felt compelled to vote, and you know what?  You’re such an incredible talent that I am not ashamed to admit it.  You were pushed under the bus by the judges last night, and you still managed to leave the show with class tonight.  That’s far more than I could ever do.  And somehow, you also managed to not hit Danny Gokey in the face while he smiled smuggly all during your performance.  That in itself is a huge accomplishment.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed each performance you’ve given over the past few weeks, and imagining next week without your quirky attitude and impeccable voice makes me wince.  To think that in your place we get to watch Gokey in all his constipated glory is unnerving.  The mental state of everyone that voted for him should be questioned at this point.  God truly has blessed you with an amazing talent, and I’m glad to have been privileged enough to hear your incredible voice.

I can’t wait for your Idolatry interviews.  Slezak loves you, and I’m sure your great personality that Simon never could see will shine.  I wish you great luck and can’t wait to buy your album; I’m sure it’ll be a hit.

Thanks for giving me a reason to write these recaps.

Rick Johnson, #1 fan.

I was going to be writing a recap of tonight’s festivites, as well as catch up on a few other things, but I have to mourn the loss of dear Allison.  I’ll be back tomorrow.

Thanks for stopping by, grab a tissue on your way out.

American Idol Top 4 Analysis: Put the “GO” in Gokey

Hopefully, Gokey packs his bags tonight.

Hopefully, Gokey packs his bags tonight.

Overall, last night was a great night for American Idol. Like last week, they weakest link was quite clear after all of the performances: Danny Gokey. He proved tonight that he is not at all a versitile artist (I cringe at that word thanks to Kara “artistry” DioGuardi, but it was necessary.).  And though his voice is probably stronger than Kris’s voice, Kris brings originality and relevancy that Danny does not and cannot bring.  As I’ve said before, when it all comes down to it, Kris is the most relevant vocalist in the competition.  The other 3 are more powerful than he is vocally, but Kris’s kind of music is very popular right now.  As for who’s going home,  it’s truly a toss-up.  The only certainty, though, is that Adam isn’t going anywhere this week.  His fans surely voted in huge numbers this week after last week’s bottom two scare, plus he earned a spot in the Top 3 with his great performances last night.  Danny definitely deserves to go, but he has a very large fan base for some reason, and the judges avoided any real harsh criticism last night, though deserved it, and instead chose to give him an “A for effort”.  If it comes down to Allison and Kris, then I believe Kris will be hitting the road.  Allison may have received mediocre reviews for her solo performance, but she got to close out the show with Adam and the duet was extremely well received by the judges, and surely America, while Kris received mediocre reviews for everything he did.  However, this surely resulted in his solid fans voting even harder for him.  If I had to make a prediction on who would go, I’d say Danny, though I have horrible feeling about Kris’s fate.

Hopefully, America made the right choice and we can finally put the “GO” in Gokey!

American Idol Top 4 Recap

Sorry I couldn’t live blog last night as I usually do, I was extremely busy and didn’t get to watch until late last night. Anyway, without further ado, here is my (abbreviated) recap of last night’s episode of American Idol.

The highlight of the latter half of Season 8.

The highlight of the latter half of Season 8.

First up is..

Adam Lambert singing “Whole Lotta Love” by Led Zeppelin.  This week is his week.  Even though I’m not a fan, there’s no denying he’s got the ability to really knock it out of the park.  Wow, this is quite a production!  Some seriously killer high notes throughout that whole thing.  Overall, it was probably my favorite Adam performance because it actually called for those (in)famous high notes.  Songs like “Ring of Fire” are not complimented by incessant wailing, this, however, worked.  The judges drool over and Simon says that no one can top it now.  Next up is..

Allison Iraheta singing “Cry Baby” by Janis Joplin.  Wow, Allison’s rocking a new hair do this week.  This fits her (and the theme) really well.  And the singing is outstanding on top of that!  Man she is truly an incredible singer.  This week, she not only showed off her always amazing vocals, but she had a confidence on the stage that she hasn’t really had so far this season.  Very, very impressive performance.  Of course, the judges have to be complicated and make comments about her song choice, arrangement, blah, blah, blah.  WHAT ABOUT THE SINGING?!  Why must they feel the need to hurl Allison under the bus?  Why not Gokey?  Oh, I’ll get to that in a mintue.  Allison finally speaks up in the end and there’s a really awkward little conversation between Allison and Simon.  Next up is..

THE SUPER EXTRA SPECIAL DUETS!  Seriously though, I really like this duet idea.  Allison and Adam couldn’t be better suited for a duet.  But I guess in order to hear that one, we have to go through Danny Gokey, who’s so smug 24 hours a day he makes David Cook look humble, and Kris Allen, whom I have no fault with at this point.  I actually like him second only to Allison.  Anyway, they’re singing “Renegade” by Styx.  Parts of this little number were really good, but many parts were horrendous, like when they engaged in a yelling match towards the end.  Now, seeing as I can’t stand Danny, he initiated and was the sole contender in the screech fest.  He was clearly trying to dominate the duet and Kris couldn’t keep up, but that’s not a bad thing.  Danny was not singing, he was yelling with all the strength him.  I was waiting on him to spontaneously combust (see, Fringe).  In the end though, the judges sided with Gokey (WHAT!?!?), which could spell trouble for Kris.  Next up is..

Kris Allen singing “Come Together” by The Beattles.  Kris did a great job picking his song this week; this one really suits him.  However, no one will match Carly Smithson’s showstopper of a rendition during the Top 12 last year.  Generally speaking, this performances was really good, and one of my favorite Kris performances.  There were a few janky notes in the middle-end, but it was overall a good job.  Kris, in my opinion, is the most relevant contestant left, if not from the whole season.  I could very easily see him having a hit on the radio.  The judges were not complimentary, however.  Why do they have such an agenda?  Is it that hard to trully give a critique?  I realize the producers are tyring to push for an Adam/Danny finale, but don’t they understand that regardless of whether they win, both Danny and Adam are under contract and 19 has first dibs?  Gosh.  Next up is..

Danny Gokey the Horrible” singing “Dream On” by Aerosmith.  Danny, you do not sing songs like this.  You do not have the range, control, or generally ability to pull of the original version of any Aerosmith song.  The beginning wasn’t horrible, but the end was absolutely atrocious.  I know I lose most of my credibility since I can’t stand Gokey to begin with, but this truly was a disaster of epic proportions.  The last few lines and the final screech/yell/wail/horrible noise were, quite possibly, the worst few seconds of any Idol performance in it’s 8 years on tv.  Those last few cringe-worthy notes will always haunt me, and the other 20-something million views forever.  WHAT THE HECK!?  After that horrid display of ignorance and arrogance, the judges refused to tell him it was terrible, but instead gave him an “A for effort”?  Only Simon spoke about the horrible last notes, but I don’t like him anymore so he still doesn’t get credit.  Next up is..

The most incredible moment of the night, Allison and Adam’s duet of “Slow Ride” by Foghat.  As I said above, Adam gets a pass for any and all screeching this week because that’s what he’s supposed to do.  I heard about the duets a few days ago, and the idea of this duet has had me excited all week.  There is no way this duet can be anything less than awesome.  And it was incredible!  They compliment eachother so well on the Idol stage it’s ridiculous.  They should make an album of duets; that’s the only chance I have of ever buying a cd with Adam Lambert’s name written across the bottom.  That was all that I’d been waiting for and more.  I feel kind of (really) stupid getting all worked about it, but that really was awesome.  Everyone deserves one of those moments every Idol season, and this is mine.  The judges loved it, and Simon said that the duet could be responsible for saving Allison’s future on American Idol, and I think he may be right.

That wraps up tonight’s awesome show (Did I really just say that?), I’m a little nervous for the results tonight, but hopefully we put the “Go” in Gokey and have an awesome Top 3.
