Poll of the Day Results

March 28th- What Do You Think of Michelle Obama’s Attire?

  • 82% of votes said they are like me and have ZERO problem with the First Lady showing a little arm, while the remaining 18% want to slap some slap sleeves some leaves on her.  Come on people, it’s the 21st Century!

March 29th- What Do You Think of the KCA Green Movement?

  • In one of the closest polls in Conservative Journal history, 52% of voters disagree with me and think the Kids Choice Awards preaching of going green was great.  The remaining 48% think like me, that global warming is simply too controversial to be the central theme of a kids award show.  I compare to making evolution the theme of a kids award show.

March 30th- What Do You Think of the KCA’s Hypocrisy?

  • Naturally, 88% of voters said the hypocrisy the KCS’s showed at their after party was horrible.  12% of voters, however, think it’s fine to talk about saving the planet like it’s the biggest deal in the world, and then haul thousands and thousands of paper plates, plastic cups, etc. to the dump.

March 31st- Who Was Your Favorite on American Idol?

  • For the second consecutive week, voters chose Adam Lambert as their favorite with 17%,  Kris Allen was in second with 15% of the vote, Danny Gokey and Allison Iraheta tied with 13% (Danny had more actual votes though), Lil Rounds had 12% of the vote, Scott MacIntyre had 10% of the vote, Anoop Desai received 8% of the vote, Megan Joy received 6%, and Matt Giraud came in lats with 4% of the vote.  The remaining percentage said they don’t watch.  Unfortunately, we wrong and Megan Joy ended up leaving American Idol.  She will be missed.

April 1st- Conference, No Poll.

April 2nd- Conference, No Poll.

April 3rd- What Do You Think of Bill O’Reilly’s Boycott of Sean Penn?

  • 41% of voters said they are also boycotting Sean Penn, 35% understand why Bill is doing it, but aren’t boycotting Sean, 18% think it’s stupid, and the remaining 6% don’t know/don’t care.  I think I fall into the “good for Bill” cateogory.  I don’t watch Sean Penn movies, but just because their topics don’t interest me.

DUmmies Exposed: Kids Choice Awards Hypocrisy

I wonder if thats the truck dropping off Nicks crap?

I wonder if that's the truck dropping off Nick's crap?

Yesterday a posted about the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards excessive talk about global warming during this year’s telecast.  They constantly barraged the teen audience with facts about global warming throughout the show, with Leonardo DiCaprio eventually telling the kids that “our mother is hurting!”.  When I posted the article, I made sure to point out that I have no problem with educating kids of taking small precautions to help the environment, even though I personally believe global warming is merely a cycle and not influenced by humans in any way.  I mean really, what’s picking up some litter going to hurt?  Well, today I received an interesting e-mail, but before I explain the contents of the message I want to make this clear:  I am in no way proclaiming this to be 100% fact, as all I have is the statement by a reader that could have simply fabricated the entire thing.  If you know this to be untrue, please kindly let me know and I will write a retraction.  All I am doing is relaying information that I was given. Is everyone clear?  Alright, good.

Today I received an e-mail regarding the Kids Choice Awards that claimed that the show was not practicing what they preach.  At the Kids Choice Awards after party, the e-mails claims, the several thousand guests in attendance were treated to fine meal that was served on paper plates and eaten with plastic utensils.  The drinks were also served in disposable plastic cups.  At the end of the night, the plates, cups, and utensils were bagged up and hauled off the nearest dump, where they will be burried in the landfill.  Do I have any problem with this?  Absolutely not.  However, the Kids Choice Awards spent a considerable amount of the 1 and a half hour event explaining to millions of kids across the country the benefits of recycling and using environmentally friendly products.  You would think the people in charge of the event would have set up rows of recycling bins in order to solidify their stance on environmental protection.  If this does turn out to be true (I believe it), then Nickelodeon obviously isn’t as concerned with the environment as they want us to be.

What do you think of the KCAs not practicing their environment protection methods?  Remember, if you have evidence to the contrary of this, please let me know.  I would hate to spread lies around the internet.  Leave your comments on this below or e-mail us at theconservativejournal@gmail.com.

Poll of the Day: What Do You Think of the KCA Green Movement?

The Kids Choice Awards featured a lot of green activism at this years ceremonies, and even allowed Leonardo DiCaprio to go as far as to tell the children in attendance that “our mother is hurting”.  I find it rather ridiculous that he is preaching his green lifestyle to this kids in this particular way, especially with the controversey surrounding global warming, or “climate change” as they like to call it now that the temperature has fallen.  What do you think of this?  Vote below in today’s poll!

Leonardo Dicaprio at KCA: “Our mother is hurting!”

The Green activists love to talk about their green endeavours; however, occasionally they take it a little far.  First, we had the speech Al Gore made where he basically told young teenage children that their parents were out of touch and didn’t understand the modern world.  Now, it’s Leonardo DiCaprio telling the millions of young children at the Kids Choice Awards that “our mother is hurting”.

I haven’t seen much reaction to this on blogosphere yet, most likely because most bloggers likely weren’t watching the awards show.  However, I happened to catch a few minutes of the telecast, and what I saw was ALL ABOUT some green activism.  Leonardo was there to accept his award for “The Big Green Help” (which never fails to remind me of Sara Silverman’s “The Great Schlep”), which is given to the person that exhibits excellence in advancing green initiatives.  During his speech, he said this:

Right now, our mother, Mother Earth, is hurting.  And she needs a generation of thoughtful, caring, and active kids like all of you to protect her future.  You can help us win the battle to clean up our air, our water, our land, to protect our forests, our oceans and our wildlife.

There was much more to the acceptance speech, which drug on for at least an hour and was the longest acceptance speech I’ve ever heard.  After hearing that, several things came to mind.  First of all, I can’t imagine why this is on a show geared to young tweens.  At this point in their lives, the environment is not a priority.  Secondly, I don’t understand why the people at Nick feel the need to shove something as controversial as Global Warming down our throats at an awards show for kids.  At a time when most are beginning to doubt the mere existence of Global Warming, Nick is in full force pushing a green way of life.  Don’t get me wrong, I don’t have anything against a green lifestyle; I do, however, have something against a children’s channel taking advantage of children by pitching farce like Global Warming.  And I don’t necessarily have a problem with children being educated in taking care of the environment, but using lines like “our mother is hurting”?

What do you think of this?  How does this compare to Al Gore’s speech earlier in the year?  Leave your comments below or send us an e-mail at theconservativejournal@gmail.com!
