Leonardo Dicaprio at KCA: “Our mother is hurting!”

The Green activists love to talk about their green endeavours; however, occasionally they take it a little far.  First, we had the speech Al Gore made where he basically told young teenage children that their parents were out of touch and didn’t understand the modern world.  Now, it’s Leonardo DiCaprio telling the millions of young children at the Kids Choice Awards that “our mother is hurting”.

I haven’t seen much reaction to this on blogosphere yet, most likely because most bloggers likely weren’t watching the awards show.  However, I happened to catch a few minutes of the telecast, and what I saw was ALL ABOUT some green activism.  Leonardo was there to accept his award for “The Big Green Help” (which never fails to remind me of Sara Silverman’s “The Great Schlep”), which is given to the person that exhibits excellence in advancing green initiatives.  During his speech, he said this:

Right now, our mother, Mother Earth, is hurting.  And she needs a generation of thoughtful, caring, and active kids like all of you to protect her future.  You can help us win the battle to clean up our air, our water, our land, to protect our forests, our oceans and our wildlife.

There was much more to the acceptance speech, which drug on for at least an hour and was the longest acceptance speech I’ve ever heard.  After hearing that, several things came to mind.  First of all, I can’t imagine why this is on a show geared to young tweens.  At this point in their lives, the environment is not a priority.  Secondly, I don’t understand why the people at Nick feel the need to shove something as controversial as Global Warming down our throats at an awards show for kids.  At a time when most are beginning to doubt the mere existence of Global Warming, Nick is in full force pushing a green way of life.  Don’t get me wrong, I don’t have anything against a green lifestyle; I do, however, have something against a children’s channel taking advantage of children by pitching farce like Global Warming.  And I don’t necessarily have a problem with children being educated in taking care of the environment, but using lines like “our mother is hurting”?

What do you think of this?  How does this compare to Al Gore’s speech earlier in the year?  Leave your comments below or send us an e-mail at theconservativejournal@gmail.com!

More From the World of Meghan

Meghan McCain followed up her busy past few weeks with an appearance on Larry King Live last night, covering everything from her tattoo to the Laura Ingraham dispute.  It’s an interesting interview, I must say.  I’m not going to bore you every detail (If you want the full transcript, AOL has it here.) but here are some of the things I consider the highlights:

  • She said that anyone who doubts that Obama isn’t taking the economy seriously is ridiculous; however, she fears he is on the verge of over-exposure in the media, which could alienate older supporters.
  • She supports Obama, as does her father.  Who, in case any of you missed this, is John McCain.
  • Says the Republican party is full of differing personalities.  Not all want Obama to fail.
  • She did an interview with Bobby Jindal’s wife, Supyira.  The interview can be found here.
  • She considers herself a progressive Republican (A.K.A. RINO.  Meh.).  She says she’s liberal on social issues; e.g. gay marriage and abortion.  She’s pro-life personally, but thinks people should have that option.
  • Says she agrees with her father on war and the economy and is a fiscal conservative.
  • Somone in an airport told her to “kiss my fat a**” (Got to keep it decent. :),  just as she did to Laura Ingraham last week.  She says that the fued is over as far as she’s concerned.
  • She claimed she didn’t know who Laura Ingraham was before all of this.
  • She thinks Supyira Jindal (Wife of Bobby Jindal) is a better role model than Ann Coulter and Laura Ingraham because the Coulter and Ingraham give off the impression women in the Republican party have to fit into “this one box”.
  • The interview wrapped up with a personal touch: She has a star tattoo on her foot.

I give Meghan a little credit with the Coulter/Ingraham/McCain throwdown because I really do think she handled it well.  However, the girl is a Class A RINO.  I am glad to hear, though, that her “progressive” traits are in social issues rather than fiscal and government size.  At least we don’t have to worry about her voting for bailout upon bailout if she ever became a senator or representative, though I don’t imagine there is much chance of that.

What do you think of the interview?  Were you surprised at the fact that she has a tattoo?  And how about that guy in the airport throwing her words back at her?  Cool guy.  Leave your comments below or send us an e-mail at theconservativejournal@gmail.com.  Also, look for today’s Poll of the Day regarding the interview!

Charlie Rangel Can’t Read His Own Writing

See the resemblence to Dracula??

See the resemblence to Dracula??

Charlie Rangel can’t seem to understand the tax code, which is excusable because most liberals can’t.  However, there’s one catch.  Charlie Rangel is in charge of the committee that writes the tax code.  You would think someone that spends his time writing and editing our million page tax code would have a pretty good handle on what is good and what is illegal, but of course that makes too much sense.  Instead, the spitting image of Dracula seems to think that rental property income is tax-exempt and the price of other properties flunctuates with the mood he’s in.  Well, it doesn’t seem to work that way for the rest of us.  Here are the details on Charlie’s latest little tax dilema:

Most know of Charlie’s tax dodging ways when it came to his rental property in the Dominican Republic.  He was just slightly confused with the fine print that he wrote, and thought that his out-of-country property was there tax-free.  Since he’s a liberal, he got a slight slap on the wrist from Queen of Congress, Nancy Pelosi, and was told he could pay up if he felt so inclined.  But apparently he didn’t learn then (In his defense, I don’t know why he’d learn a lesson.  He didn’t get in trouble.), and now is cheating his own rules once again.  The latest little omition from his taxes was a house that he sold in Washington, in addition to a home that changed value three times over a few year span; going from $50,000 to $100,000, then even as high as $5oo,000.  Of course Charlie sites the changes and omition as simple mistakes that could happen to anyone.  Well he is right about that; however, if anyone else had made these so-called “mistakes” they’d be sitting in the tax-evasion dungeon underneath Charlie’s office.  How ironic.

Bottom Line

Charlie’s got to go.  And all the other tax cheats, evaders, and the loophole posse can follow him on his walk of shame.  I consider myself a forgiving person, but come on.  Whose anyone kidding that Count Rangula (Had to) wasn’t fully aware of his alleged “mistake”?  No one with a half a brain buys that bull crap.  We have got to start extending the same punishments to those with power that we common folk are faced with.  We don’t get fifty million chances to get it right; they actually expect us to *GASP* obey the law.  Something needs to be immediately done with Rangel, Geithner, and the rest of the tax-evasion crew.  How about they pay back what they owe, inluding penalties?  That’s a start.

What do you think about the tax-evaders running amok in our government?  I know, let’s all just make “mistakes” on our taxes and see if we just get a warning.  How does that sound?  Leave your comments on this below or e-mail us at theconservativejournal@gmail.com.

The Chosen One Will Triumph In 2012 Against Sarah Palin

Could 2012 be the year of Paul?

Could 2012 be the year of Paul?

Or at least, that’s what the latest poll says.  How those things can predict 4 years in the future is beyond me.  But anyway, the poll shows that Barack Obama would trounce Sarah Palin in 2012 with 55% of the popular vote compared to Palin’s 35%, results that compare to Nixon’s 1972 blowout against George McGovern.  I guess the remaining 10% go to a third party candidate; could 2012 be the start of a 3 party system??  Seriously though, if I thought there was any accuracy in these numbers I’d be very concerned considering Palin is a very popular figure among Republicans.  Plus, the notion that a moderate dude like John McCain could pull in so many more votes than a true conservative is rather alarming.  However, rest easy fellow conservatives and those not aboard the Obama Train; I don’t think 2012 will look anything like this.

First of all,  that’s a long way off.  Golden Boy has just started his reign and many people are still being fed the Kool-Aid through a funnel.  Though I can’t predict the future, the way things are going I don’t see his first term ending on a high note.  I could be wrong, but we’re predicting the future here; there’s room for error.  Anyway, say that his term doesn’t go well, naturally Palin would have a much better shot.  However, if the term is a flop, I believe we will see a completely different crop of candidates come primary time.  This will make it harder for everyone, and she could end up without the nomination.  Someone like Romney could easily step in and take the spot; he did win in the CPAC poll.  This won’t necessarily end her presidential prospects, though.  She’s young and could easily try again in the future.

But then there’s the other scenario:  The term is a success.  If his first term goes well and most of his promises are fulfilled, he will be re-elected with no problem.  In this case, I think that we will see several little-known conservatives make their debut on the national scene.  In the event Obama does well, 2012 could be a big year for, say, Ron Paul to go for the nomination.  Do I think he has any chance of winning?  Negative.  Do I think he has any chance of securing the nomination in 2012?  If Obama does well, absolutely.  Of course this is all dependent on whether or not he chooses to seriously go for it.  I know the prospect of Ron Paul being the nominee in 2012 may sound a bit out there to some, but I’m being serious.  No serious candidate is going to contest Barack Obama after a successful first term.  That would be a waste of his or her resources.

So what do you think about the poll?  Will it’s results prove to be accurate in 2012?  Leave your comments below or send us an e-mail at theconservativejournal@gmail.com!  Also, you can vote in today’s “Poll of the Day” on this matter by clicking here.

Poll of the Day Results

Although the results are in, the polls aren’t closed; you can click on the title of the poll and cast your late ballot!

March 14th- Are You Liberal or Conservative?

  • This could be the most obvious poll that will ever be on the site, but here are the results:  77% of readers of The Conservative Journal are more conservative, while 23% identify more with liberal viewpoints.  To those 23% in the minority:  I’m glad you here!  Rally some more of liberal friends so we get some comment debates going!  Seriously though, thank you to all that voted and read The Conservative Journal!

March 15th- Whose Side of the Fued Are You On?

  • This results of this poll are a lot closer than I expected:  When asked whose side Conservative Journal readers were (Either Jim Cramer or Jon Stewart) on in their little feud, 53% sided with Jon Stewart, and 39% sided with Jim Cramer; with the remaining  8% having no opinion.  I voted for Jim Cramer because I think his show is funnier, but I wasn’t expecting many to vote for him.  Guess everyone agrees?

March 16th- Internet problems prevented a poll on this day.

March 17th- What Do You Think About Laura Ingraham’s Comments?

  • In this poll, 63% thought that Laura Ingraham crossed the line with her “plus-sized model” comment to Meghan McCain, 23% think America needs to lighten up, and the remaining 14% don’t care about either one of them enough to form an opinion.  Once again, on this one I went with Laura Ingraham crossing the line initially, though after hearing the full context of the comments I don’t think they were that bad.

March 18th- What Are Your Views on Abortion?

  • On this random issue, the vote was almost split exactly as the “Liberal or Conservative?” poll, with 74% siding with the more conservative “Pro-life” option, and the remaining 26% going with the generally liberal choice of “Pro-choice”.  Of course, I went “Pro-life” on this one.

March 19th- Do You Support Gay Marriage?

  • Looks like our readers are a little more moderate on this one:  61% voted against gay marriage, with the remaining 39% voting in favor of gay marriage.  Of course, I voted against.

March 20th- What Do You Think of Barack’s Special Olympics Comments?

  • We posted this before news of his apology, and 74% of those polled said that B.O. needed to apologize for his remarks, with the remaining 26% thinking that America needs to lighten up and laugh.  While I did vote that B.O. needed to apologize (glad he did do that), I generally side with America needing to lighten up.  For someone that campaigned on a platform of hope, change, and equality this was a low blow.

Mail Bag: Barack’s Special Olympics Gaffe

Barack Obama’s Special Olympics gaffe not only sparked outrage around the country, but it sparked many comments and e-mails worthy of this “Mail Bag” special.  I just want to take this time to thank everyone that commented and e-mailed, whether featured on this page or not.  Let’s start with those that agreed with me:

Jax put the comments in perspective for us on the “Barack Obama Reads This Blog” post:

He has hurt many families in America. He needs to say he is sorry in the public, not to an organization.

In addition, someone who claims to have experienced prejudice and stereotypes throughout life, and has written about them in great detail, should be more sensitive and refined from life’s lessons.

Furthermore, Obama claimed he was going to have the world think ‘highly’ of America again. Will this joke help?

For someone who spoke of equality as a creed. Does this joke match that philosophy?

For someone that said he would stand for all people. Does this stand up for those that participate in the special Olympics?

The fact is Obama claimed a higher standard. To much is given, much is required.

Obama has just showed us that ‘yes we can’ destroy what a campaign stands for with a single joke.

During the campaign for the White House in 2008, the media criticized Palin for being ‘common,’ ‘not-polished,’ ‘not-compassionate’ and ‘not presidential.’ However, compare Sarah Palins attitude in this video created three weeks ago for the Special Olympics in Boise, Idaho.

You decide the more ‘presidential’ among them. Watch: http://tinyurl.com/ccz6nj

Reaganite Republican, who writes a great conservative blog, left this comment on the same article:

Obama has something seriously wrong with him- what kind of monster mocks the disabled on network television?

I guess we shouldn’t be too surprised by this gauche and downright cruel comment re. the Special Olympics- no different than his classless cheap-shot on 90-yr-old Nancy Reagan in his first presser- apparently his preferred targets are old ladies and the handicapped… what a creep.

Narcissists like Obama are often callous- and even ruthless. They tend to lack empathy and/or a conscience. This is evident in his lack of interest in his own half-brother who lives in poverty in Kenya, or his aunt found living in public housing in Boston.

Other indicators include control freakery, grandiose self-importance, feeling “above the law”, interpersonally exploitive, inability to handle criticism, lack of empathy, arrogant behavior, surrounds himself with sycophants… sound familiar?

Obama is a mess- and his insecurities, bad childhood, and irresponsible, far-left-wierdo mother are now all OUR problem, too-

Of course, with great postivive comments, there had to be some negative:

kimi33 sent in this e-mail regarding the special olympics comments:

You conservatives just have to have something to criticize, don’t you?  Those who have never made an off-color comment can cast the first stone.  It was just a slip that doesn’t deserve all this unwarranted coverage from “Faux Noise”.  Conservatives keep saying Obama should have been fixing the economy instead of be on Jay Leno, so instead of coverring Jay Leno the conservative media should cover the economy.

Love from the left,

kimi

And to you, kimi:  What about when Bush made an off-color remark?  Did you jump on the MSDNC (See, I got funny nicknames too) bandwagon and talk about it for days?  Heck, in the days after Bush did something comparable to this the Clintons could have bombed Canada and would receive no coverage from MSDNC and the majority of media outlets.  The fact is, they can treat it like a non-story all they want, but it doesn’t erase the fact that Barack is a insensitive windbag hypocrit.  Have a great day!

So that wraps up the latest Mail Bag segment for now.  Once again, thanks to all that commented, and if your comment wasn’t featured send in another one on another article!

What was your favorite comment?  Do you think kimi had the same attitude towards John McCain when he couldn’t remember how many houses he had?  Leave your comments below and you may end up in the next Mail Bag!

Suspect #5: Michael Moore

Like hes got anything better to do than edit Wikipedia.

Like he's got anything better to do than edit Wikipedia.

Perhaps the most disgusting sleeze-bag liberal there is (and there are many) Michael Moore could definitely be the culprit of the WikiGate Conspiracy.  Look at the evidence below and decide for youself:

The Evidence

Regardless of whether or not Michael Moore is a registered Democrat or not, he is as liberal as they come.  Also, he was a “large” (Hehe) supporter of Barack Obama during the campaign, but only because Nader wasn’t running.  We also know that unlike many of the others who are in the running for “Conspirator of WikiGate”, Michael has the most time on his hands.  He just looks like the kind of guy that would lurk around on the internet and read various nonsense on Wikipedia.  Heck, I bet he’s written 96% of all of Wikipedia.  Similarly, now that Bush is out of office he has no one to make a documentary about, and this provides plenty of inspiration for  a riveting little production.  Can’t you just imagine the sleeze doing something secretively just so he can make a documentary about it?  It’s a recession, he’ll take what he can get.

However…

Here’s the kicker:  while his evidence is mostly just assumptions our team of crack investigators made, he doesn’t have an alibi or much evidence against him.  We failed to find one contradictory clue in all of our investigation, which leaves MM on top of our list of possible conspirators.

What do you think of Michael Moore as a suspect?  Will the WikiGate scandal be the subject of one of his straight-to-dvd documentaries?  Leave your comments below or e-mail us at theconservativejournal.wordpress.com with your opinion!  And don’t forget to check back in next week to vote on who you think the conspirator of WikiGate was.

Thanks for reading and participating!

Barack Obama Reads This Blog

That’s right.  I know he does because just hours after I called for his apology regarding the ‘Special Olympics’ comment on Jay Leno, he did.  How do I know he read it here, you ask?  Well, because I can tell, that’s why.  Alright, so regardless of whether or not he read it here, B.O. did apologize for his remarks.  He called chairman of the Special Olympics, Tim Shriver,  to express his apologies and then went on to say some of the competitors were more than welcome to visit the White House for bowling or basketball.  Well that was nice B.O., and to think I doubted you.  Well now that I know you read this blog I have some more advice for you:  fire turbe-tax Geithner, fire Nancy Pelosi, fire all of congress, stop being a socialist, and quit spending all the money you can get your hands on.  Now get to work, that’s only the beginning!

What do you think about his apologies?  What other famous people do you think read this blog?  Leave your comments below or send us and e-mail at theconservativejournal@gmail.com!

Poll of the Day: What Do You Think of Barack’s Special Olympics Comments?

For those that missed B.O.’s comments about the Special Olympics, the story can be found here.  What do you think about those comments?  As I said in my article, I think they were over-the-line and he should apologize rather than hide behind a White House Press Release.  Vote in today’s poll to see how your opinion compares to other readers of The Conservative Journal!

Come On, Barack! Well, at Least He’s a Liberal.

I suck like the Special Olympics, says Obama.

"I suck like the Special Olympics", says Obama.

Barack, Barack, Barack. What were you thinking? You can’t talk about how bad you were bowling and compare it to the Special Olympics; especially when you’re the president! I mean, I’m sure I’ve said worse, but you are the PRESIDENT. Geez. For those that missed this little debacle, while Barack was being a cool cat on Jay Leno (DID YOU KNOW HE WAS THE FIRST PRESIDENT EVER TO GO ON A LATE NIGHT TALK SHOW???), Jay brought up his lack of bowling skill. Barack said it was getting a little better but still sucked, and then compared his horribleness to the Special Olympics. I’m sure there were many expletives swirling about in his brain after that little slip, but he should rest easy because he’ll be fine. Why, you ask? Because he’s a liberal, of course! The only people that are going to ever know about this are the viewers of FOX News, listeners of talk radio, the people watching Leno, and people that read conservative blogs online. That’s probably, at the most, 15 million people that will have any idea he said that. Being a liberal nearly makes you impervious to media scrutiny, so he’s got no need to worry.  Oh and don’t forget the White House released that memo that said he didn’t mean to degrade the Special Olympics.  Oh ok, no problem then!  Come on, that’s like calling your mom a stupid fat cow, but then saying you didn’t mean it in a mean way.  How dumb does the White House think we are?  (Oh wait, we did elect the guy. :)).  So rather than hiding behind a White House Press Release, I demand that you, Barack Obama, apologize to America for belittling the Special Olympics.  We’re waiting.

*Disclaimer*

Now I know that on numerous I’ve said America needs to toughen up and not get so offended about stuff, but I think this was over the line.  Making rude comments about physical disabilities is not in the realm of okayness.  And for those that like to e-mail me and say I’m just biased, I spoke out against Laura Ingraham’s comments on Meghan McCain’s weight earier this week.  No, I didn’t say as much about them, but those comments were not anywhere near as offensive.

Just imagine the outrage if Rush or Hannity or Coulter had said that! We’d never hear the end of it.  What do you think of Obama’s comments?  Were they completely ridiculous or do you think it was all in good humor?  Leave your comments below or send us an e-mail at theconservativejournal@gmail.com!

Laura Ingraham Sets the Record Straight

Laurah Ingraham cleared the air on The OReilly Factor.

Laurah Ingraham cleared the air on The O'Reilly Factor.

At the start of the live O’Reilly Factor broadcast tonight, Laura Ingraham took advantage of her guest hosting spot by setting the record straight regarding her weight comments toward Meghan McCain.  The subject of tonight’s Talking Points Memo was the word-twisting nonsense going on on the left.  In the memo, Laura took advantage of her spot by saying that she DID NOT call Meghan McCain fat.  The entire clip was played in the background and, given the full context of the comments, they didn’t sound quite as harsh.  She went on to say that she has constantly said Meghan McCain is a lovely girl and is no way fat, and that it was just another example of the left twisting conservative’s words to push their agenda.  I must say, I admire Ingraham for bringing it up on such a large platform, but I still don’t know if I’m convinced the comments weren’t slightly weight-based.  Actually, without the weight context, saying that about the “plus-sized model” really makes no sense at all.  But Laura generally means what she says and cuts the crap, so I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt.   It was a great little segment; for those who missed it don’t forget to tune in to the next broadcast of The Factor at 10 Pm Eastern.

What do you think  of Laura’s bringing the comments up?  Do you believe she wasn’t making a weight referrence?  Leave your comments below or send us an e-mail at theconservativejournal@gmail.com.

Suspect #2: Barney Frank

Barneys motives are eerily similar to Pelosi. Was it he?

Barney's motives are eerily similar to Pelosi. Was it he?

Like Pelosi, Barney Frank also has a crush on Barack and would hate to see his boy toy be defamed on the world wide web.  But would this bumbling imbecile have it in him to remove those sentences from the Wikipedia entry?  Read the clues below and decide for yourself:

The Evidence

Similar to Pelosi, Barney has a lot of spare time on his hands to make the changes.  He also is, quite literally, in love with Obama.  I also imagine that he spends endless hours on the internet checking his Chemistry.com profile for hits and playing internet spades; thus, leaving plenty of oppurtunites for him to skip over to Wikipedia and make a few edits.  Rather him be surfing the web than yacking in that indecipherable voice, though.  Barney Frank is a true Obama fantard that would no doubt seize any oppurtunity for some butt-kissing.

However…

Also like Pelosi, Frank is many years old.  Though he can efficiently surf Chemistry.com and has mastered internet spades, he does not have a preprogrammed memory cell that contains instructions for browsing Wikipedia.  At the same time, ole Barney knows what it’s like to have skeletons in the closet and would no doubt jump at the chance to eliminate Big O’s for him.  I think Barney Frank is a true contendor for the conpsirator of WikiGate.

Barney certainly has the motive to commit this deed, but like Pelosi, he has age and inteligence constraints that would have held him back in the moment of editing the page.  Do you think it was Barney Frank?  How do you think he stacks up compared to Nancy Pelosi on the guilt-o-meter?  Leave comments below or send us an e-mail at theconservativejournal@gmail.com.  Also don’t forget to subscribe to our RSS feed so you never miss an update in this ongoing saga!

What do you think about this new segment?  Leave your comments below or send us an e-mail at theconservativejournal@gmail.com!

Obama: Capitalism Fails!

In a press conference yesterday Barack could be heard giving the Dems what they like to hear.  When he began talking about the economy and talked about the economic policies for the last 8 years (trickle-down economics, tax cuts, CAPITALISM, etc.) he stated, “Let me be clear, those ideas have been tested and they have failed.”  Ooooh right, because stimulus packages have such a great track record for helping out the economy and all.  I mean come on, really?  To say that tax cuts, capitalism, and trickle-down economics have been proven to fail compared with the fail that is a stimulus package is moronic.  COME ON BARACK.  The last stimulus package had the same effect of throwing a peice of iceburg lettuce at a building and expecting it to fall.  Nada.  The money is lost forever and the stimulus failed to stimulate anything except for false hope.

It’s fascinating revalations such as this one that really make me wonder about where we’re headed.  Putting more confidence in a stimulus than in the fundamentals of the country is one bizarre to look at things.  So what do you think?  Are bailouts the wave of the future?  Or are you with me in thinking that they should be formally banned?  Let your voice be heard by leaving a comment or sending an e-mail.  It just might be posted on the site!

Thanks for reading!
