Newt Gingrich, will we see him in 2012?
That’s right. Earlier today Newt Gingrich was being interviewed by Sean Hannity and he asked him if he would interested in running for the nomination in 2012. Newt immediately responded with a “Yes”, which left Sean Hannity speechless for the first time in the history of the world. He then said to ask again in 3 years and he’d give a definite answer. I think this is huge because usually a candidate won’t even give an idea if they are running unless they are pretty sure of it. If Newt Gingrich did get the nomination, I would be behind him 100%, but in the primaries probably not so much. He is a brilliant guy, and I like his conservatives values, but he brings a lot of undesirable baggage with him. We’ll have to see where this goes from here, I’m sure it will be convered some more by the media.

I have followed Newt’s activities for years on TV, print & radio & am thoroughly convinced he is the only true conservative to lead the US as President in 2012. He is so far ahead of & above any other Republican prospect being mentioned for President in 2012, including any that were in the mix for 2008, that Newt is the only choice for right-thinking Americans. He is intelligent, articulate, knowledgeable of domestic & foreign issues, has congressional experience, is a proponent of sound fiscal policies (less government, less govt spending, lower taxes), has the temperament & maturity to inspire the nation to join him in solving the messes that have been created by inept, corrupt, lazy & leftist bureacrats in Congress & the judiciary of the past 15 years. And now we have a Democratic president & congress to suffer thru, hoping they don’t cripple our nation with their spending & policies. I pray that Newt Gingrich will start the recovery process, campaigning for conservatives in the 2010 elections & then running for President in 2012.
Newt is hardly a true conservative. Look at his stance on global warming, he wants to push a “Green Conservatism.” He is to the right of McCain, but can not be considered a conservative.

INCLUDING THE DUMBOCRATS.
Please run for President Newt! I and many others will vote for you and we will get this country back on track!
I agree, Newt is one of the few choices for the right-thinking American. I do also have confidence in Palin and Huckabee to stay truly conservative, I think they are good choices also. The only thing I worry about with Newt is that I know many conservatives that won’t support due to his past baggage with his three marriages. It doesn’t bother me too much though. Obviously I would rather it not have happened, but it did and I can accept that. I just worry that some will never will get behind him for it, you know?

At least Newt didn’t drown any one and leave the scene, he didn’t get tossed out of college twice, and at least he married his three wives, didn’t just play “hide the cigar” with them. He’s very intelligent, mature, and I don’t view him as someone who would lie and deceive the American people.
Amen to that. When you compare his baggage to some, it amounts to nearly nothing. I’m not saying I have a problem at all with his multiple marraiges, I just think that many will.

Newt is the man for me! He has answers for the problems, who cares if he has 3 divorces. All of us have some failures in our lives. Here is a man who does not hold an office but is still out there trying to come up with solutions to help America. I hope he runs, because we truly need him.
Well good, I’m glad to have a Newt supporter stopping by! I think Newt is brilliant, and I, like you, am really ok with the 3 divorces; however, I fear that not all conservatives would be.

Newt does have some personal baggage but remember when we thought Reagan would have problems because he had 1 divorce? Clinton was known to have problems keeping his zipper closed and Obama had admitted to a long list of drug abuse not to mention homosexual activity. I really don’t think the old addage of “Any man who can’t run his own house can’t run a country” morality exists any more. This just shows how the moral fiber of this nation has declined and although it is sad it might be a good thing in this instance. WE really need another patriot like Reagan! A no nonsense guy who’s not afraid to call a terrorist a terrorist. WE MUST get some good old fashioned American ideals back in Washington DC and not just in the White House!
I agree that we certainly must get some old fashioned ideals back in D.C. The people there now lack all morals. However, I think it’s easier for a liberal to be immoral (Clinton and Monica, Barack and drugs) because the liberals that support them lack the morals to have a problem with any of that. Their supporters are doing the same things, so they can relate. I don’t know if I necessarily think Newt’s baggage would hold him back to the point of not being able to win the primaries, but I think they will hinder to some extent. And much more so than if he were a liberal.

And most of the televangelists who have been caught with their pants down, whether literally or figuratively over the last two decades have been conservatives too. Then there’s Rush Limbaugh, and his history of drug addiction,and George Bush, with his history of alcoholism and cocaine abuse (which was more recent than Obama’s drug use back in his college days)…..

You’re not interperating what I said properly. I didn’t say that only liberals do immoral things, I said that the liberal voting block as a whole is more accepting of immoral acts than the conservative voting block. For example, I know conservatives do things that aren’t moral, and I distance myself from them when they do. I don’t like Richard Nixon, Tom DeLay, Mark Sanford, Rush Limbaugh, or really George Bush either.
I’m in no way saying that conservative politicians don’t make mistakes and do bad things. That’d be an outright lie.

There are rumors online about Rush Limbaugh having a homosexual affair back in his college days, but they are no more substantial than the homosexual rumors about Obama.
On the other hand, they are no LESS substantial, either.
I had never heard of the homosexuality rumors for either of them, that was a comment by a reader. But personally, I don’t believe either of the stories because I’ve never seen any compelling evidence for either case.

I do think that conservatives *as a group* are just as accepting of immorality as are liberals (though no more so) — the difference lies in what SORT of immorality each of the two groups is willing to put up with.

I do see your point. I think it all lies in your perspective. Obviously a conservative might find something immoral that a liberal does not, and vice versa. The confusion lies in the fact that the things a conservative does that liberals may find immoral probably don’t even cross a conservative’s mind as wrong in anyway, and vice versa. I hope you can follow what I’m getting at, I’m having a hard time wording it properly. I’m basically agreeing with you…. kind of. Haha I hope it will make sense to you.

I support Newt Gingrich to run for President in the Republican primary. Newt could have beaten Obama in the last election, but the Republicans thought they needed to give McCain a chance. Our country is conservative as a whole. We need a conservative president. Be prepared for the liberal personal attacks. You know they are coming. Gingrich would be ten times better than anything we’ve had since Reagan.
I’m afraid that electing Barack was inevitable. Looking back on the election, nearly everyone was against George Bush and since he was a Republican, it became a dirty word. It was the Democrats’ year. However, I do agree that we need a conservative president and that our country is conservative as a whole. I know that if Newt doesn’t run for president, he needs to be on the campaign staff of anyone who does.

I like Newt BUT I don’t consider him a Conservative. He’s more like conservative “light”. He’s on the “Green” and so called Global Warming bandwagon which drives me nuts when someone that supposed to be on the Right refuse to look at the numbers that blows that stuff out of the water, but I digress. It is my opinion that Newt would be better than what we have and it would depend on his running partner if he would have been theoretically better than the McCain/Palin ticket. America is a center-right country as a whole with pockets of “people” on the fringes of the left and right though the left fringe has a louder and more visual populus than the fringe element on the right. The left fringe also has multiple outlets of their message i.e. MSNBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, Huffington Post, Media matters, et al. Anyway, enough of that. I would like to see some forerunners with the Santorum, Hunter, Steele, Palin, Demint thought process. No more RINO’s please, thank you very much.
I never have understood the conservatives/Republicans on the global warming bandwagon. I don’t think there is anything wrong with trying to protect the environment, but I don’t think we should do it because we think we’re causing the Earth to boil because, quite frankly, we just aren’t causing the Earth to boil. Like you, I would prefer a more conservative conservative in the next election. I supported McCain in the general election, but I supported Huckabee during the primaries.

this man is the genuine article. he understand the idea of strengthening community and decreasing power of the social govt model.
I would love to see him run and would even ponder on contributing actual effort into his run.

Newt could be the best president in the past 100 yrs. he has that knowledge and understanding of government. Run for president in 2012
I have admired Newt ever since he brought introduced the contract for America. I realize that the liberals don’t care for Newt; therefore, we must be prepared to admit that the Democrats will try to beat him up on his moral short comings. But then who has not fallen or come short in some kind of moral failure? A person who has not fallen in some respect or other is stronger than Samson, wiser than Solomon, and more spiritual than David. The important thing is that Newt has learned from his mistakes and is moving forward. He needs to be right up front about his moral failures. This may be a way to put an honest stop to his critics before they can make headway in these issues.
As far as knowing how to lead, knowing where this country is now in both homeland and global issues, and knowing where this country came from in it’s history, no one is sharper than Newt. Obama can not hold a candle to Newt on any of the issues that directly affect the American people. Newt has his finger on the pulse of this nation, and like a skilled physician, he reads that pulse correctly.
My one concern is Newt’s great respect for the pope. I am quite afraid that under his administration there is a potential for a church/state alliance. Being the historian that he is, he can surely recognize the serious problems that are created when church and state join hands. Freedom of conscience is brutally trampled upon, and no church or state can dictate a man’s conscience. That is my great fear of having Newt in office. Outside of this one fear, I believe Newt could possibly be one of this nations greatest presidents. I will vote for Newt should he run.
Newt was in Des Moines, last evening! Oh what a leader. As a social conservative I have absolutely no problem with his past, it’s the future of this great country that I’m concerned about. He has the intellect and debate skills to return the direction of this country to the people. He already has my vote this early in the game! Come on people, jump on board!

Newt is one of the smartest, if not the smartest politician to ever grace Washington D.C., his speaking skills and intellect cannot be beat. He’s got my vote.
